Westside StudioWest Pure Passion Extreme Eyeliner in Olive and Expresso Delight Review

Girls don’t really need a reason to buy makeup/beauty products. Do we?  But I did use this festive season as an excuse and just splurged, literally!!! So you will see a lot of reviews coming up. Okay recently Westside launched their cosmetics under the name of StudioWest. Being a TATA brand I was pretty confident that the quality of products would definitely be nice.
Okay so if I was ever had to choose only 1 makeup product for life, it surely has to be an eyeliner/kohl/kajal. So the moment I stepped in to check the cosmetics I instantly reached out for an eye liner. I picked up two shades “11 Expresso Delight” (I can never have too many Brown eyeliners) and “10 Olive”

The most important characteristic of an eyeliner for me is that it should be smudge free. This one for sure is. It’s also soft, creamy and glides on effortlessly.  Both the shades are really pretty and these eyeliners are highly pigmented. Even one swipe really packs in a good amount of colour on the waterline. Great to be used on the upper lids and worn as eyeshadows which blend quite well, the staying power is good 5-6 hours even when tightlined after which it starts to fade and you will have to touch-ups but will need a makeup remover at the end of the day to get rid of it completely.
Talking about its packaging, the StudioWest eyeliners come in a twist up pencils form which you can easily retract in case you twist up a little more than necessary ( this to me a big plus) Overall I am quite impressed with these eyeliners and surely see myself buying them again, especially for the price they come at.
So what are you waiting for.. go get them and don’t forget to write in to let me know how you feel about these eyeliners.
Rating: 4.5/5 (0.5 for the Olive shade, which I feel will not look as good on darker toned beauties)

THE BODY SHOP Virgin Mojito Body Sorbet Review

What a perfect time for TBS to launch their new range – Virgin Mojito!!!With the temperatures soaring high, all you want is a splash if lime and hint of mint to cool you off. Well and that is exactly what the Virgin Mojito line of TBS does.

I am a big sucker for TBS products and I have not really had a product that didn’t work on me (except 1 really). So when this limited edition line was launched I had to get it ASAP. Each of their products smells so heavenly and it is no different with this one. I can keep sniffing the product whole day.. it smells to fresh and screams summer.
Alright so to talk about sorbets. Sorbets are gel like moisturizers. They are soft, fluffy, non-sticky, translucent formulas. When you apply it onto your skin, it immediately starts to absorb and doesn’t feel sticky like your body butters or lotions which is what I like, especially in this heat when your body does not need too much of moisture yet hydrates it enough. The mattifying sorbet feels like a hybrid of gel-powder as it starts to absorb. There is nice cooling sensation when you apply this product. Put your sorbet in the fridge and it feels even better. Community Fair Trade Aloe Vera is one of the main ingredients in all of TBS’s sorbets and is known for its moisture-rich properties

Coming down to its packaging, it’s the standard TBS matte tube with a flip cap. The flip cap is not too sturdy and hence not a very travel friendly packaging as there could be some leakages or spillage. I would recommend taking some of it in small jars in case you wanna take this sorbet on your trips
I am completely hooked on to body sorbets since the time I was introduced to them. In fact I couldn’t wait to start using this, the tube is actually half gone already and I've not had it long! So yes I am going to get a couple of tubes of this particular variant before it goes off the shelf

INR 795/- for 200 ml

Have you tried The Body Shop Body Sorbets? I'd love to hear from you!

Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush Review – Creamy Cinnamon

Hello Beauties!!!!

So the last two days I have been on a gastronomical trip, literally!!
If you are a foodie and  someone who visits pandals during Durga Puja that have these food stalls serving the best of Bengali delicacies then you what I am talking about (even the thought of it is making me crave of some more)
Well while attending Durga Puja this time I was amazed to see how these young high school girls are so taken up by this whole “ Makeup” fad. I mean so many of them have already mastered the art of wearing makeup (I barely knew anything except lipstick and kohl until I was done with my college). Anyway this made me realise that there is definitely a huge demand of budget beauty products and the one I am reviewing today perfectly fits this category… Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush
It’s been almost 2 years since Maybelline launched these CUTIES (yes they come in these tiny, cute, transparent white case) and perhaps have been reviewed by many across the globe already but somehow felt the need to draw some attention back on these blushes … with many new launches these seem to be the forgotten ones

Creamy Cinnamon is one shade that will suite all Indian skin tones ( if you are on the darker side you probably have to layer it a bit more). It is a nice earthy brown with slightly peachy undertones. The blush has minute silver shimmer present on it which is barely visible once you wear unless someone notices you too closely.  It is my go-to colour for everyday wear as it gives a very natural look and goes well with almost everything. The staying power is good 4-5 hours. And because this one is so compact and lightweight it easily slips into your bag and can be carried anywhere. The packaging is very sturdy and travel friendly. If there is one thing that you will always find in my bag it is the cheeky glow Creamy Cinnamon

They are still the most affordable blushes in the market. The formula is great, the texture is nice smooth and soft and just packs the right amount of product on the brush. This one is well pigmented and though the blush is powdery you will not feel chalky at all. All you need is just about two brush swipes of the cheeky glow blush and it instantly adds a nice flush to your cheek.

Priced at INR 275 for 7 gms, these are extremely affordable (especially for college goers). Even if you wore it every day this one will last you for 4-5 months, WOW isn't it! So if you are someone who is on a budget or are recently introduced to           blushes and wanna try a few before investing in high end brands then you certainly have to get this one.
On the flip side, the blush case comes without a mirror and  your choice for shades is only limited to 3 (review or other 2        coming up soon). I really wish Maybelline adds few more colours to this range.
Go get them and let me know if you like these as much as I do.

Sleek Oh So Special I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette Review

$11.99 (no shipping or customs was charged)

I got this palette from Sleek (they ship internationally) after having heard so many good things about this one. It is one of the most popular palettes from Sleek and one that is also raved about all over the web. I instantly fell in love with this lil black thingi.
Not all of us can really afford some of the most famous high end brand palettes (read Urban decay, Mac, Nars and many more) and hence I will say this is a like a must have for neutral shades. This one is hands down the best drugstore palette.
This palette has a good mix of shimmery shades and everyday matte shades which act as your light shade, transition shades, and several crease shades to darken. The darker colours are nicely pigmented however for the lighter shade I’ll recommend using an eye primer so the colours last longer! Most of them pick really well with the brush and don’t feel chalky at all. Also staying power is good 5-6 hours
The packaging is a sleek black matte case which is quite sturdy and hence quite travel friendly as well. On the inside this palette has a wide mirror and comes with a duo felt tip applicator, which I don’t think is quite useful. I will recommend using your regular brush. The packaging also with a plastic sheet inside the black box which has the names of shades printed on it. Im careful not to loose it I am not too good with remembering the shade names :)

Now for the price you will pay what more can you as for!!!
Swatches and shade names:

L-R: Bow, Organza, RibboN, Gift basket, Glitz, Celebrate

L-R: Pamper, Gateau, The Mail, Boxed, Wrapped Up, Noir

So if you' are looking for one decent and reasonably priced neutral palette, this is a good one to begin with however if you already own a few neutral palettes then you are not missing anything extraordinary!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Clearing Lotion Review

Recently while picking up some stuff from the new range at TBS,“ Virgin Mojito” which has hit the Indian stores recently I picked up their Tea Tree Clearing lotion which I have been eyeing for quite some time but never bought since my other moisturizers were still left in huge quantity( quite a few of them)and I really wanted to just finish up most of them before buying any more.
Alright so let’s get started!!!
INR 995/- for 50 ml
Ingredients
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Acrylamide/Ammonium Acrylate Copolymer, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Polyisobutene, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Hydroxide, Limonene, Laureth-4, Citral, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tea Tree) Oil, Tocopherol
My skin is typically normal except in summer when my T-zone tends to get oily. So considering its started to get hotter here in Mumbai and my skin now behaves like a combination skin this was the apt time to try this product. This lotion has a gel like formula which means it certainly is less heavy, soothing and mattifying which is what I want while at work plus the main ingredient is tea tree oil known for its blemish/acne fighting property( although I have none.. touch WOOD ). On application this lotion absorbs rather quickly however each time I use it this lotion does sting for a while. This product also made my skin super dry, flaky and occasionally also developed red patches (didn’t really have breakouts but…).Also my skin didn’t feel enough moisturised. This lotion also has a very strong tea tree oil scent which I personally like but some may have a problem with that being too strong. As mentioned earlier it definitely mattifies my skin and keeps the oil at bay for good 6-7 hours which works but for at that price I’d rather use maybe a primer or try something else to keep oiliness under control.
Packaging wise, not too bad as it comes in a traditional TBS tube with a flap cap packaging, which for some may be a problem as it is not very travel friendly. That being said since I have this lotion and I rarely throw my products even the ones which I do not like I have found a way to use this up. I wear my regular moisturiser and top it up with this lotion. That way it does not sting, there are no dry, red patches plus it also keep my skin oil free :)
PS: My boyfriend has extremely oily skin with some acne marks as well and I insisted him to try as I just wanted to see how this lotion behaved on an oily skin. He surprisingly did not have any burning or irritation post application neither was there any red patches. He’s used it for good 2 weeks now but I do not see any signs of  the acne marks fading although it keeps his skin oil free for about 4 hours (not bad I'd say)
So for me, I don’t think I will buy this lotion again but I will suggest oily skinned beauties to give it a try.
